Welcome to Scratch Cinema!
Founded in 2019, we are an independent publication exploring film and television.
Here at Scratch Cinema, we are dedicated to making the creative voices of all individuals heard; all of our writers are up-and-coming journalists who have committed themselves to furthering their craft. Scratch Cinema is run by passionate writers and contributors on a voluntary basis, all in the name of creative expression.
Scratch Cinema was designed to celebrate film and television, with the intent to provide an inclusive space for our writers and readers. Our platform prioritises diversity and inclusivity, and we strive to amplify the voices of young and underrepresented critics. We are part of an initiative to improve and encourage accessible film journalism in relation to D/deaf and blind people. We want to deconstruct barriers, and to become part of the solution for better representation of marginalised communities.
We publish reviews, interviews, lists, and personal essays frequently, so feel free to look around.
We’re just scratching the surface of cinema.
